How to stream on Kick from your phone

2026-07-18 · 4 min read · One Tap IRL

Kick's creator-friendly split has pulled a wave of IRL streamers over. The mobile setup is easy — with two Kick-specific details worth knowing.

Detail 1: Kick uses RTMPS

Kick's ingest is TLS-encrypted RTMPS, not plain RTMP. Your app must support it natively (One Tap IRL does). If a generic app fails on Kick with a connection error, this is usually why.

Detail 2: the key lives behind the API

The manual route is Creator Dashboard → Settings → Stream key. The better route is an app with Kick login — the key is fetched via Kick's official API and configured automatically, and rotates correctly if you reset it.

Going live

Enable the Kick destination, tap GO LIVE, and treat it like any IRL stream: adaptive bitrate on, reconnect on, chat visible. Kick viewers expect the same responsiveness as Twitch IRL.

Kick + Twitch at once?

Technically easy with a multistreaming app — one encode, both ingests. Check your account terms on each platform regarding simulcasting; policies differ by partnership tier and change over time.

One Tap IRL handles adaptive bitrate, reconnects and GoPro/DJI streaming automatically — try it free for 30 days.
